Saturn booster second test flight ends in controlled explosion
CAPE CANAVERAL Fla AP The Saturn booster launched successfully for a second time and was blown up after releasing 95 tons of water into the upper atmosphere in Project Highwater. The 162 foot vehicle achieved initial goals with eight engines firing about 115 seconds and reaching 35 miles altitude before the planned explosion over the Atlantic. NASA praised the mission as a complete success aiding future lunar missions.
