Parachutist and Saco man die in separate holiday accidents

A Saco area parachutist dies after his main chute fails to open and a Portland man, 24, dies when his parachute collapses during a jump near Biddeford. John Perkins of Portland fell 2600 feet. his body found early Monday near Oak Ridge Road. Police and multiple towns conducted a large search with helicopter aid.

Commissioners reject federal contract for county jail

Maine Supreme Court OKs 203 site campground in Kennebunk

The Maine Supreme Court ruled the town of Kennebunk zoning board had no right to deny Ronald Robinson a permit to build a 203 site commercial campground on 30 acres on Old Alfred Road.
