Accidents Claim Four in Maine in 1960 Death Toll
The Maine highway death toll for 1960 rose to 32 with four more fatalities in three separate crashes. A collision between two trucks at Pittsfield killed two New England Telephone and Key Co. linemen, Robert F. Soares and Ralph Pellegrini. A line repair truck accident left Soares and Pellegrini dead after their vehicle was torn in half by a semi-trailer on Route 100. William W. Viens died from injuries after a car rollover near Walden, and six year old Lise Beaulry was killed when struck by a car while playing near her Auburn home.
