The IRS says tax rebate checks start in May with 78 million checks mailed by end of June 1975. Rebates base 10 percent of 1974 tax, minimum 100 dollars, max 200 dollars, with checks include explanations and possible combined refunds.
State humane officer Mrs. Lillian Merry and Floyd Burrill investigated a Biddeford property after a complaint of unsanitary conditions. They warned the owner of a possible $500 fine, advised on proper feed and daily barn chores, and helped restore shelter and feeding for pigs cattle and horses.
