Iron River Redskins Win 13-7 Against Speed Boys
The Iron River Redskins defeated the Bessemer Speed Boys 13-7 at Nelson Field in Stambaugh. Iron River built two first quarter touchdowns as Corgiat rushed for the opening score and Mower sprinted to paydirt. The Speed Boys fought back with a late drive and a Corgiat touchdown but were interrupted by fumbles and interceptions. Jim Corgiat ran 76 yards on 13 attempts and the Redskins gained 12 first downs to eight for Bessemer.

A pink and blue shower was held last Wednesday at Harding school for Mrs. David Erickson. Memorial of Captain Wilko Heikkinen Ends In Dayton Crash
Captain Wilko Heikkinen formerly of Ramsay died in a B2 bomber crash near Wright Patterson Air Force Base Dayton Ohio along with Major James Melanson and two occupants of a house. Heikkinen served as co pilot and was survived by wife Eben Grade and eight siblings as funeral plans and memorial services are announced. Contributions may be sent to the Janet Massie Memorial Loan Scholarship fund in his name.
