Former Resident Dies At Mellen
Herman Saari, aged 58 years and 10 months, died at his farm near Oppegaard school east of Mellen on Monday. Born in Finland, he came to America about 35 years ago, lived in Bessemer for 25 years, then moved to Mellen eight years ago. He leaves a widow Adla and three daughters Mrs. Nylund of Bessemer, Mrs. Hill of Bessemer, Mrs. Onkka of Calumet, a son Hjalmar, two brothers John of Gilbert Minnesota and Matt of Mellen, and nine grandchildren. Funeral services held this afternoon.

With the hunting season near, the Department of Conservation at Lansing will issue about 480,000 license buttons. The buttons have been shipped to distribution points to speed the license rush.
