Lions Club Hosts Venison Dinner For Bessemer Huskies
The Bessemer Lions Club entertained the entire Bessemer high school football squad at a venison dinner in the Washington school auditorium on Tuesday evening. C. W. Moore donated the venison and Rex restaurant provided the dinner. Forty-eight players managers and coaches attended with an evening of impromptu speeches vocal numbers and a moving pictures show of the Bessemer Ironwood game.

The November term of Gogebic county circuit court opened with multiple guilty pleas and civil actions. Leo F. Mueller admitted embezzlement as former Bessemer city clerk. Charles Brace pled guilty to negligent homicide in a fatal Ironwood auto crash. Andrew Joncas pleaded guilty to a $84.90 worthless check at Grand View hospital. Louis Koski admitted theft of 4,800 pounds of railroad rails from Watersmeet, placed on two-year probation. Other cases included directed verdict for Adolph Mueller in an Ironwood collision and several civil judgments, with divorces granted. Sentences to be set by Judge G O Driscoll.

Father of Former Teacher Shoots Self in Accident
John Cory, 69, of Powers Michigan, died two hours after accidentally shooting himself while preparing to deer hunt. He slipped on his porch steps as his rifle discharged into his chest. He was father of Stanley Cory, Puritan school teacher who died in the Lake Gogebic tragedy last year that claimed seven lives.

Arrest Man Who Forged Checks Here
Edward Hinkley alias Frank E White was arrested Monday in Milford Pennsylvania on charges of forging checks in Gogebic county. He allegedly forged a $75 check on William G Cloon Ironwood attorney as a down payment on a car from Bessemer Auto Co. Cloon loaned him $25 on two occasions. They were Minnesota school acquaintances. Hinkley also forged checks on his parents in Ontonagon. He had been sought by state police since last July. The Michigan state museum at Lansing has 7000 collections.

Sincock Visitors Return to Minneapolis After Visit
