The city will seek NYA aid for ice rinks and will advertise $100 in a tourist book while aiming to liquidate $1,000 of Gogebic County Club bonds. two old sleighs to be sold.

Death of Edward H. Mahan at 66 in Michigan area
Edward H. Mahan 66 former Puritan resident died Sunday at Clinton County Memorial Hospital St John. He had health problems months and had June operation in Rochester. A master mechanic 33 years with Corrigan McKinney Steel, he moved from Stevenson Minnesota to Ovid Michigan with his family in August. Survived by wife, daughter Marjorie, three brothers and a sister. Funeral held Wednesday at Marquette the deceased home name.

Montreal Man Sentenced for Fatal Ironwood crash

Last Rites for Pioneer Monday in Bessemer
Charles P. Swedberg 89, longtime Bessemer resident and former mineworker, died Friday. Funeral services were held Monday at Frick Funeral Home and Sharon Lutheran Church with Rev. Eastman officiating. Interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery. Survived by son John, daughter Mrs. Emil Marander, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Pallbearers named. Born February 18 1849 in Dalsland Sweden, married Matilda Erickson in 1879, emigrated to Minneapolis then to Bessemer in 1889.
