Seven residents of Lake Gogebic were honored on the Kate Smith radio hour broadcast from New York for heroism in a tragedy. Local residents can donate via the National Bank where stamp cards are available. about $76 raised so far with totals over $225 from Bessemer and $135 from Bessemer Township. The drive closes Saturday.

Oscar Kalla, 55, died early Sunday at the county infirmary where he had been a patient since October 30. Leopold Siegel, 81, who had been at the infirmary for three years, died Saturday. a former Ironwood peddler, buried Sunday in the Jewish cemetery at Hurley. Circuit Court Begins Monday in Gogebic County
Circuit court opens Monday with Judge George O. Driscoll presiding. Naturalization hearings will run today and Saturday as about 100 people seek citizenship, among the largest classes in Gogebic County history. She married Victor Anderson in 1914. he died last year.
