Born Sept 28 1870 in Telsh Lithuania she lived in Sweden before emigrating to the U S in 1890 and settled in Bessemer in 1890s. Survived by three sons and six daughters including Joseph Maurice Frank Sadye Rose Alice C J Gribble Green Bay Marenisco and Harriet. Funeral at Frick funeral home with Rabbi D Bender. Interment Hurley cemetery. Pallbearers listed. Sister Mrs Ray Sachs Chicago also attended.

The Penokkee Veneer Co. of Mellen has bought a large timber tract near Watersmeet and will commence logging. Veneer logs will be trucked to the Mellen mill, and a saw mill will be built at Watersmeet to process No 2 logs, hemlock, and other timber unsuitable for veneer. A logging camp is already established.

His skull fracture and spinal injuries proved fatal at Grand View hospital eight hours later. He leaves a wife and two children. Sister Mrs. Robert Barron of Ramsay attended the funeral from St Ambrose church Ironwood.

A coroner’s jury in Ironwood found that 64 year old Mrs. Caroline Rundquist died after being struck by a car driven at excessive speed that fled the scene. Carl A. Lehtimaki, 19, of Ironwood, was arrested two hours later in Hurley and faces a preliminary hearing in Ironwood on November 20.
