Death of Indianhead Mountain founder in Chicago plane crash
Jack B. English 49, developer of Indianhead Mountain Ski Resort in Wakefield, died April 28 when his twin-engine plane crashed in Lake Michigan off Chicago during fog. Pilot Richard Vitalo also perished. English, a WWII airman turned contractor, led Indianhead to prominence and recently worked on King Mountain project. Survived by wife Mary Lou, parents, siblings, stepchildren, and grandchildren. Funeral held at Church of the Transfiguration with interment at Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. John Bugni 59 of Wakefield died Friday evening April 30 at Ashland Community Hospital after a week there. Born Mary Normiati in Sao Paulo Brazil she lived in Italy before moving to the United States in 1922. Surviving: husband John Bugni one daughter Mrs Woolward Gray three sons Peter Priante John Gene Priante one sister in Rome six grandchildren. Dr Rosaria Bulgarella, daughter of Mr and Mrs Carmello Giannetto, a San Bernardino based psychologist, leads a 110000 grant project from the US Office of Education to develop methods for inducing number readiness in handicapped children. The work, moved from Michigan State to California State College San Bernardino, builds on five years of related research at MSU and UW and follows three prior Office of Education grants.

Miss Berthilde Anderson, born 1882 in Kris Nor, Bessemer, died Tuesday, April 28, at Luther Home in Marinette Wisconsin. Funeral services were held Friday at Sharon Lutheran Church with Rev. C Raymond Ho ing. burial at Hillcrest Cemetery. She had worked as a domestic cook in local homes and in Minneapolis and New York, retired in 1948, and was an honorary member of Lutheran Church Women.
