Man Who Helped Build Court House Is Dead
Anton Cedarburg eighty three year old immigrant from Sweden died March 10 at the county infirmary hospital after six months with rheumatism. A mason by trade he helped erect the court house and jail in Bessemer in the early days. He came to Gogebic range in 1886 and lived near Wakefield for the past twenty years. Funeral was held Saturday at Wakefield. survivors include several nephews and nieces.

During the eighteenth anniversary week of the American Legion Auxiliary nearly 9 00 presid ing Officers will present an illuminated plaque to their Legion Posts. The plaque honors the national convention resolution proclaiming forest and soil conservation as national defense. plaques were presented in Bessemer and Ramsay. The measures were prepared by the U S Forest Service and Civilian Conservation Corps with plaques mounted on birch wood and printed on wood craft paper.

Wife Of Former Pastor Is Dead
Word has been received of the death of Mrs. C. A. Benander at Pomeroy Iowa this week. She was married to the former pastor of Sharon Lutheran church here serving 1922 to 1927 before the family moved to Pomeroy. Rev Benander, one daughter and two sons survive. The funeral was held Thursday in Iowa.
