Speed Boys Drop Final Contest of Season to Redmen
The Bessemer Speed Boys closed the regular season with a 67 to 55 defeat by the Marquette Redmen at A. D Johnston gym. Johnny Penglase starred for Marquette with 28 points, while Jim Corgiat led Bessemer with 28 points as the team shot 21 of 43 from the field and 12 of 21 from the line amid 46 fouls and multiple ejections. Marquette finished 11-5, Bessemer 5-10.

Two Gile Women Killed By Auto Driver Fined $400
Mrs Elsa Pakkaliina 62 and Mrs Ada Lathanen 65 of Gile Wisconsin were killed Friday night when struck by a car driven by Edward A Machesky 30 of Gile. The accident occurred on Highway 77 near the victims homes. Machesky admitted driving the car and pleaded guilty in Iron County court to failing to stop at the scene and traveling too fast for conditions. He was fined 350 and 50 dollars respectively.
