The Memorial Day observance received strong backing from city residents and the American Legion Peter Gedda Post No. 2. Contributions were acknowledged and a soliciting committee’s report listed receipts and expenditures, noting many individuals and organizations aiding the event.
The Bessemer Common Council meets January 23 1922 chaired by Major Gadda. Aldermen Petander Johnson Cummins Winkowskhi Bartans Negri Proctor Absent Flings Probelski Jago attend. They consider transferring certain city streets to the Gogebic County Road Commission with routes described from Section 16 to Fourth Avenue and from Sellar Street to the quarter post between Sections 11 and 14. All present vote yea and the resolution passes.
Michigan circuit court in Gogebic County requires Jacob Palamaki to appear within three months after May 18 1922 or have the bill confessed.
