Mrs. Charles Avicola formerly Josephine Cena of this city died last Friday in a Chicago hospital at age 40 after three years of ill health. Born November 8 1895 in Pennsylvania she moved to Chicago 15 years ago. Survived by husband son Henry daughter Vera mother Mrs Frances Cena two brothers Peter and Matthew Cena and three sisters Mrs Henry Pelander Esther and Bertha Cena. Brothers left for Chicago to attend the funeral held earlier in the week.

Firemen answered alarms for an explosion at a kerosene store in the Louis Orlandi basement on East Sellar Street at 5 AM Saturday, with damage confined to the basement ceiling. Last Thursday at 11 PM a shed fire destroyed by fire damaged the Alfred Arola residence on West Third Avenue, likely started by spontaneous combustion of paint rags. John Novakowski Dies at 95 in Wakefield Home
John Novakowski died Tuesday morning at his son Joseph's Wakefield home of infirmities of old age. A Polish immigrant who came 33 years ago, he lived in Frankfort Indiana and Plover Wisconsin before settling in Bessemer and later Wakefield. Survived by his son Joseph, daughter Mrs Minnie Jorwiak of Chicago, 33 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Services Saturday at the Wakefield Catholic church with burial in Bessemer cemetery.
