Insurance tiffs bother Bessemer council again
The Bessemer city council wrangled over insurance on city property at Monday’s meeting. After approving 5000 in contents insurance for the fire hall the panel stalled on who should receive the business. Frank J Masnaghetti was proposed by Pastori and Anderson but failed to gain a majority. Duda was awarded insurance on the new city ford truck for 440 but the motion failed twice before the council approved paying Duda for May 18 to June 15. The panel then backed Mayor Donich in insuring the truck. The body also favored installing water meters and ordered an inventory of tools with bids for council chambers, while repainting the city water tank was tabled.
