Minocqua Group Plans Industrial Push for Bede Aircraft
About 50 residents met at Lakeland High School to back an effort led by Jaycee committee head Joe Bartos to attract Bede Aircraft to the area. Five volunteers formed a development group to draft by laws and set up an industrial corporation. Bartos said Bede plans BD-1 light sport planes with 4350 orders and potential local employment of 250 at a $1.5 million annual payroll, boosting area taxes and education funding.
