Seek extension US-45 into U P

Richard Menefee of the Land O Lakes Wisconsin Highway 26 club has asked Upper Peninsula groups to support extending US 45 into northern Michigan. The plan would re route from Centralia Illinois through Champaign Rockford to the Wisconsin line then along W 26 to Oshkosh Monico and Eagle River to Watersmeet. In the UP the current M 26 would become US 45 from Watersmeet to Bruce Crossing Rockland Houghton Hancock Lake Linden Hubbell Laurium Calumet Mohawk and Gay, ending there. The project aims to connect western UP to the Gulf of Mexico bypassing Chicago. Illinois has approved re marking across the state to Kenosha county line and G E Bishop urges careful consideration noting existing UP M 45 Kingsford to Barron Mine and potential US 435 involvement.

It lubricates the intestinal canal, adds bulk to contents, and reduces straining, lowering danger of high blood pressure spikes and related complications. The article also notes fishing laws updates and entomology findings on damsel flies in northern Michigan streams.

Supreme Court backs state tax on Detroit International Bridge Co

The tax is about $4,000 annually, and the ruling aligns with prior decisions including a U.S. Supreme Court affirmation. In other news, proposals on loan interest limits for the November ballot move forward, requiring 161,627 signatures by July 6 for constitutional amendments, and July 24 for primary ballot placement. A newly observed penetrating ray, seen during thunderstorms, echoes mysterious cosmic rays in early findings.
