Cloverland Trail Becomes Major Upper Michigan Resort
Upper Michigan boosters tout Cloverland as a premier summer destination. From 1916 to 1921 tourist traffic rose to over 23,000 with scenic and industrial routes along Gogebic and copper ranges, Marquette iron district, and Mackinac Island. Improved hotels, camping reserves, and 300 information bureaus spread Cloverland literature to lure visitors.
