Kert Church, a well known man, was kicked by a horse while preparing to stable the animals after a trip to the Mikado. He was found unconscious on the floor by Mrs. Markstrom and taken to his home. Doctors reported severe facial injuries. Friends fear for his recovery.
Across Fort Worth Texas six people died and forty were injured in a tornado near Every. Chicago saw the University of Chicago defeat Wisconsin 67 1 3 to 56 2 3 in a track meet. Lansing reports the state Senate approved a Roosevelt reelection resolution. In Kalamazoo word came that William McKee, a druggist missing since Thursday, murdered his mother and killed himself in Bright Ontario Sunday night.
Yffoughton Gazette-Bessemer congratulates on securing M. J. Walsh of Hancock as new superintendent. The Bessemer school system is expected to improve soon as Walsh has done good work in Hancock. The community voices support via resolutions, and Walsh’s wide circle of Portage Lake friends regrets his departure from the copper country.
