Wakefield Man Dies By Own Action In Back Room Sa loon
Jack Collins longtime Wakefield resident former deputy sheriff cut his throat in the back room of John Delmet's saloon on the Brotherton mine road last Sunday evening about 9:30. Inquest by Justice Tobin returned a verdict of self destruction. Collins had been in poor health and had told a friend he planned to seek hospital treatment but gave no hint of suicide. He had lived apart from his wife for years. The remains were buried here on Wednesday by the A. O. U. W. lodge, of which he was a member. He left no local relations. an aunt, Mrs. Richard James of Iron Mountain, and another aunt, Mrs. Edwin Kent of Omaha, Neb., survived.

Child Drowns In Wash Tub At Colby Home
Three year old Abrian Absila, son of Mr and Mrs Ab sila at Colby, fell into a tub of wash water left standing by the mother while she visited a neighbor. The child was found dead upon the mother’s return.

Miner Killed in Colby Mine Shaft Accident
Erick Oleson died after a fall of ore at the Colby mine shaft on the fourth level Saturday of last week. He suffocated as rescuers could not reach him before the cap broke and the accident occurred.

Pittsburg Steel Signs $25 Million Deal With U S Steel
A $25,000,000 contract between Pittsburg Steel Co and United States Steel Corp seals the largest steel deal to date.
