Dawson miner Rice claims near Dawson and big gold outlook
The letter from Klondyker Rice, written at Dyea and sent home via limited mail, details three Dawson area claims valued at about 5000 dollars each, high living costs, and extreme cold. He cites a 25 million dollar Dawson gold shipment expected next summer, advises March start for crossing lakes, and plans to sell his claims after a season, returning home.
