Gogebic Community College trustees named to fill vacancies
Ironwood residents Mrs. Charles Humphrey and Clarence Forslund were appointed trustees of Gogebic Community College to fill vacancies created by the resignations of Rev. Rudolph Kemppainen and Roy R. Ahonen. They will serve the remaining terms ending in April, with all six board seats up for election next April.

County frees Mosinee Tract rights at board meeting
Gogebic County Board of Supervisors approved a Forestry Commission recommendation to surrender county rights to the Mosinee Tract under the Mosinee Paper Mill Co. contract and the Ahonen Lumber Co. agreement. The Ahonen sale to Owen Illinois Co. prompted the move to finalize the transaction and give the county a first chance at reclaiming the land no longer.
