The infant's father left months ago and is thought to be in Arizona. A brother in Ramsey and Mr and Mrs Joseph Beisel aided in comfort. Funeral at Presby terian Church of Bessemer Saturday at 3:30 PM.
Frank Terril received a preliminary hearing at Hurley this week on a charge of striking his mother with a club and revolver butt. Testimony showed he killed his father five years ago at his mother's request. the woman was arrested in the courtroom on murder charges.
Marquette's city commission on Monday night reduced the number of saloons from thirty three to twenty three and raised the license fee from five hundred to seven hundred fifty dollars. It was found the old council had licensed ten saloons in excess of the number permitted by state law.

Janis Wood a pioneer explorer of his range and discoverer of the Nor rie mine died last week in the south at sixty five. Wood known to old settlers as the grandfather of Ironwood the wood coming from the name of the deceased. Many settlers on this range remember the Wood brothers.
