Mrs Leslie Cox 51 of 634 Sutherland St Ironwood former resident, died February 11 at Divine Infant Hospital after brief illness. Born September 23 1917 in Ironwood she married Leslie Cox June 23 1947. Survived by daughters Carolyn and Marjorie at home mother Kate Osborne Ironwood sister and brothers.

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Mary Semmerling 96 of 108 E Colby St who died Monday at St Sebastian Church with Rev Chester J Franczek officiating Burial followed at Hillcrest Cemetery The St Sebastian Ladies Guild members served as honor guards and pallbearers included her sons Stanley and Paul Semmerling grandsons James Grabowski and others from Illinois Wisconsin and Michigan including Dr T Wozniak and Miss Marian Wozniak of Detroit and Miss Ruth Grabowski of Chicago The list of attendees spanned multiple states and towns reflecting a large community attendance. Porcupine Mountain State Park opened to snowmobilers with restrictions and permits required from Michigan Department of Natural Resources Daily permits 1-2 and annual permits 3-5 with a park opening ordered at the request of State Senator Joseph Mack of Ironwood.
