Valentine Party Ends With Prizes and Dining at Whitburn Home
Mrs Thomas Whitburn hosted a Valentine gathering on Wednesday February 14 with progressive pedro from 8:30 to 11:30. Fred Whitburn won first prize and Mrs H W Williams was booby prize. A heart contest followed with Mrs Shea taking first and Fred Whitburn second. The home was decorated with hearts and guests included Mr and Mrs J D Shea and Mr and Mrs Sid Proctor. The couple departed late proclaiming the Whitburns fine hosts. On February 15 at St Sebastian church Emma Gerhardt married John G Shea with George Wealton as best man and Dora Gerhardt as bridesmaid. The Sheas will reside at the Colby location after February 20.

Miners' League Formed At City Hall Meeting
Base ball fans from mines and the city gathered at City Hall on Tuesday evening to discuss organizing a league. A four-team Miners' League of Bessemer was formed with Tilden Yale Colby and Ironton as members. An executive committee named F A Sibenachis chairman G Greenwood McDonald Hoople and Gustafson. Steve McDonald elected treasurer with heavy bonds.

Last Saturday evening the B. H. S. boys basketball team faced the City team at the Amusement Hall, with a fast contest ending in a 14 to 0 score in favor of the high school crowd.
