James Corgan Former Prison Warden Dies in Milwaukee
James P. Corgan, former warden of the Marquette branch prison, died Thursday at the Veterans Hospital in Milwaukee where he had been a patient since January 3. Born in Keweenaw County and raised in Ontonagon, he and three brothers once ran a general store. He served as warden from 1922 through the administrations of Groesteck, Green and Bracker. He leaves a wife, a daughter Mrs. Bruce Stocking of Ann Arbor, and four brothers. Interment was in Ontonagon.
