Kuivinen Bride Weds LaCrosse Nurse in Ann Arbor
John C Kuivinen wed Ruth Ophelia Rudrud in La Crosse at Our Savior Lutheran with Rev George Alviden officiating. The couple, after a honeymoon at Gateway Land o Lakes, returned to Ann Arbor where Kuivinen, a University of Michigan engineering graduate and Navy veteran, works toward a master’s degree and Rudrud is a Kohler School of Nursing graduate on University of Michigan hospital staff. The wedding drew 150 guests at the YWCA hall with family and friends from Bessemer Wakefield and other Michigan locales.

Michigan Bell Rural development chief Theodore H. Dawson outlined plans to install about 20,000 new telephones in rural Michigan this year. The program includes reducing party lines to eight or fewer and converting about 2,700 crank phones to cordless. Supervisors Back Plan to Swap Lands for County Forest Growth

Bowlers League Plans Tourney
A large delegation of women bowlers attended the Wis coMich league meeting at the Elk's clubrooms to plan the coming tournament to be held at the Mussatto Bowling alleys. The main events will run March 5 6 7 and 12 13 14 and 19 20 21 with a 25 cent entry fee add on to cover extra expenses. Average rules for new bowlers and those on multiple teams were set, and Linnea Sepfan of Ironwood was chosen as a delegate to WIBC Dallas Texas for the April 30 to May 15 tournament. President Gustafson announced a Bowlers Victory Legion box for voluntary contributions at Mussatto during the Wisco Nich t tournament to aid the cause.
