Remains of Captain Torreano Returned for Burial
Captain Torreano, Ramsay native and first war fatality, was killed in Italy on November 7, 1943. His body is being returned from overseas for burial in Ramsay with military rites by the Fredrickson-Torres Post No. 360. He served from 1941, trained at Camp Claiborne, saw action in Ireland, North Africa, and Sicily, and was born July 29, 1916 in Alabama. He leaves a wife Wyoming Minn., his Ramsay family, and several siblings.

Post Operates Store to Finance Local Projects
Scotland Post 50 of The American Legion formed a store to raise 16000 for a 500000 athletic field. The loan was repaid in 18 months, financing a 50000 recreation park with a hardball diamond two softball fields and a football gridiron. Future plans include a swimming pool tennis courts and a clubhouse funded by store profits.
