Funeral Held for Mrs Amelia Ossanna 83 Former Bessemer Resident
Funeral services were held Monday for Mrs Amelia Ossanna 83 a former Bessemer resident who died February 1 at Oak Forest Hospital Illinois. A Requiem Mass was celebrated at St. Sebastian Catholic Church with High Mass at 9 am officiated by Chester J Franczek. Burial followed at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers included Robert Baccon John Springhetti William Wagner Edward Lundgren Joseph Jezek and Val Maccani. Out of town attendees included Mrs Amelia Weber of Chicago and Mrs Leonard Croskey of Dearborn Heights.

Ruppe seeks stay on time change in Upper Peninsula
Congressman Phil Ruppe urged a delay in the April 1 time change affecting the Upper Peninsula. He sent a letter to Interstate Commerce Commission Chairman William Tucker asking for no strict national enforcement yet and to allow local review. Ruppe warned of potential havoc if banks schools railroads airlines and media follow different schedules and said he will seek local input in Gogebic Dickinson and Menominee counties.

Martys Goldenaires donated 100 dollars at a Gedda Cychosz Post American Legion meeting toward the Legion furnace fund. Commander Paul Potega named Bernard Michelli historian succeeding the late Martin Lamoreux. The Fourth of July Committee was named with members including Pozega Michelli Gierl Martell Gray Maki Neault Pricco Servia Malmberg Lesky Barry Johnson. The post surpassed its membership quota by 20 but several members owe 1967 dues. A potluck supper by the post and auxiliary is set for Saturday Feb 11 in the clubrooms.
