Obituary Paul Pozega 42 dies after cancer battle
Paul Pozega aged 42 of 103 Second Avenue died at 10 on Christmas morning at Grand View hospital after a three year cancer illness. Born in Yugoslavia on June 9, 1897 he came to the United States in 1915 and lived in Bessemer except for a year in Youngstown Ohio. He worked for Oliver Iron Mining Company and is survived by his widow four children and his Yugoslavian mother. A member of the Croatian lodge his funeral was at St Sebastian Catholic Church and burial followed at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Thomas Cilek Dies at Home After Stroke
Thomas Cilek aged 75 and a longtime resident of Bessemere died Wednesday morning at his North Clayberg Street home after suffering a paralytic stroke three months earlier. Born October 17, 1864 in Czechoslovakia, he lived in Saxony for two years and elsewhere before settling in Bessemere 34 years ago.

Winter Work On At Watersmeet Hatchery
High water in the future will be less likely to sweep hatchery reared fish into neighboring forests when dikes are completed at the Cooks Run trout rearing station in Iron County and the Ontonagon river station in Gogebic County. The winter program of the fish commission includes dike erection, finishing the interior of Watersmeet state fish hatchery, and installing new wiring and heating systems.
