Christmas and holiday visits noted across Antigo and nearby towns with relatives hosting guests from Milwaukee Chicago Stambaugh Marquette and Duluth. Several local residents and students are listed visiting family or staying with relatives during the holiday period. A six pound son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Jacobson in Ironwood.
The Women's Catholic Order of Foresters held their annual Christmas party at the Odd Fellows hall Wednesday evening. Members exchanged gifts and were served by Mrs. Carl Repinski, Mrs. Thomas Pribbie, Mrs. Martin Shefke, Mrs. George Knoblock, and Mrs. William Waters.
Two local groups host New Year’s Eve dances from Dec 30 to Dec 31. The Elks hold their annual ball with a popular range orchestra at their hall drawing a large crowd. The Eagles invite members and friends to celebrate the new year after opening the new hall on E Sellar Street formerly the Italian hall.
Pupil performers from St Sebastian parish school presented a Christmas program last night in the Washington school gymnasium. Acts included orchestra selections, a living Christmas tree, and chorus pieces by fifth through eighth grade girls, with all children also performing in Rachael, The Leper Maid. The high school orchestra under Harry Reinhold provided music, directed by Marguerite Kondstella overseeing the rhythm band and choruses.
Mr. and Mrs. William J. Warren celebrated their 50th anniversary Tuesday at their daughter Ruth Grimm’s Yale location home. Married December 26, 1883, they received a gold gift at a surprise party arranged by Mrs. Frank Quigley and Mrs. Ole Olson. Frank Nenacheck delivered the presentation speech as Mendelsohn’s wedding march played. Dorcas chapter No. 183, Order of Dorcas attended.
An Eastern Star chapter presented a bouquet to Mrs. Warren the order's chaplain. The Royal Neighbors sent a gift to Mr. and Mrs. Warren. Congratulations from friends and relatives arrived though they could not attend.
Grademes at Beseemer High held reunions during Christmas week. The Class of 1931 met Tuesday at the Washington school gym with John Dimperio as general chairman. Performances included Mae Basket and Jeanette Skinnard on piano, Harry Reinhold on trumpet, Janet Stevens tap dancing, Anton Wysoski danço, and more before dancing and lunch at Bernie's Cafe.

Mies Lilien Raisinen and several N R N and Misses from Chicago, Ashland, and Detroit arrive to spend Christmas. Families including Mr Mrs Alfred Koshak, Mrs Signe Strom, and Mrs Mary Jacobson host guests from Detroit and Chicago. A infant, Donald Milton, undergoes tonsil removal in Ironwood. Others travel to Milwaukee and Chicago for holiday visits.
Sunday services at 14:30 a m for Sunday School and 6:30 p m for Yoong Peepes Society with an Evening Service at 7 54 p m. A Christmas program was held on Christmas Day at the Anvil school gymnasium in English.
At the Anvil school students performed tuberculosis essay work and shared gifts from 4 to 8 oclock under Miss Isabelle Ec. Teachers and mothers joined tea. Mr and Mrs Steve Fodor of Iron River visited relatives during the Christmas holidays. Ferdinand visiting here. Clarence Sandin traveled to Stephenson Mich for work, visiting home over holidays. Miss Raby McCarrick from Lansing stayed with the B Georgia family. Mr and Mrs Parco Destasio of Montreal visited relatives here on Christmas Day.
