A prominent mining man tells the Herald that the Steel corporation needs Bessemer grade ore for near term use. The push to open Mc Kinley mine, the Gil bert near Sparta, and the Ohio and Norman shows emphasis on Bessemer ore. Cessation at Stephens north of Aurora is said to free force for Mountain Iron and other Bessemer sources. The policy of idle fee properties and heavy working of leased mines is blamed for an ore imbalance favoring non Bessemer ore.
