Cub Scouts Awarded By Pack 315 At December Meeting

At a Cub Scouts meeting Pack 315 presented den mothers with unit awards including Summertime Pack Award for summer meetings and an Honor Unit 1968 roundup Pack Banner for recruiting. Ronald Tourville received recognition for organizing the scouting program Besgemer. Christmas carols by cub scouts and Webelos planned at Gogebic Medical Care Facility on Dec 19.

Hospitals report many flu patients in northern Michigan

Grand View Hospital administrator Frank A. Drazkowski said about 20 percent of the 65 patients suffer upper respiratory infections including influenza and pneumonia. Divine Infant Hospital Wakefield reported roughly half its patients have such ailments. He warned visitation limits may be needed as outbreaks rise and noted college student influx from Michigan lowers winter illness risk despite nearby campuses closing for holidays.
