Army Private Thomas P. Sholar 21 son of Mr and Mrs Joseph Sholar Ramsay Michigan completed training at Ft Leonard Wood Missouri in a service update from the Army station.
A serviceman began eight weeks of advanced training at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri. He received instruction in combat squad tactics infantry weapons and engineer reconnaissance with emphasis on engineering camouflage and related techniques.
Ishpeming defeated Negaunee 68 to 54 while Crystal Falls beat Marquette Baraga 67 to 61. Hancock topped Lake Linden 68 to 60 and Houghton triumphed over Painesdale 98 to 69.
