Record Ore Move Surpasses 1907 Peak Across Lake Superior Region
Ore shipments in the Lake Superior Iron region for the season just closed exceed 1907 records by 750,000 tons. Total waterborne shipments about 41.85 million tons, plus rail to furnaces bringing total to 42.85 million tons from Mesaba, Menominee, Gogebic, Marquette and Vermilion ranges, with notable increases from Two Harbors Ashland and Escanaba.
