Erick Jacobson 73 Dies After Heart Attack In Bessemer
Pioneer resident Erick John Jacobson of Johnson road died Thursday morning at home after a heart attack. Born November 20, 1875 in Munsala Finland he worked 47 years for Oliver Mining and ran a farm for 40 years. Survived by two sons three daughters and many grandchildren. funeral at Sharon Lutheran church with burial in Hillcrest.

Deaths and services for John Sidle and Bessemer Masons
The remains of John Sidle 88 a former Bessemer resident who died in St Paul Tuesday morning were brought home for burial. Funeral services will be held Saturday with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. Sidle born March 7 1860 in Bohemia married Anna Sokol who came to Bessemer with him about 60 years ago. Surviving are three daughters Mrs J Saunders Mrs Chris Stahlmann of St Paul and Mrs Joseph Mraz Wakefield. His wife predeceased him six years ago. In Bessemer lodge 390 Free and Accepted Masons meeting Tuesday elected William S Baird worshipful master to succeed Edmond Rodd. Other officers elected included Rudolph Sorenson Hartvig Romstad Richard Brown Horace Lucas Clyde Coxey Walter Bennetts Secretary Oscar R Hansen Treasurer Carl Olson Chaplain Joseph Niemuth Marshal Paul Hoeft tiler Hartvig Johnson Installing officer Paul Becker.

Christmas Meet At Saint Sebastian Ladies Guild
Circle 5 of the St. Sebastian Ladies Guild held its Christmas party at Mrs. Anne Stevens home. A $10 donation funded altar flowers for Yale season. Prizes went to Mrs. Joseph Jezek and Mrs. John Ewen. Gifts were exchanged and carols sung. A bake sale and gift items sale will be held Saturday at Johnson Hardware store starting 10 a.m.

Anvil Palms Circle Holds Annual Christmas Party
The Anvil Palms circle held its annual Christmas party on Thursday night December 2. The Ottawa National Forest reports 132 acres burned from 81 fires this season, with 17 lightning caused and 23 smoker caused fires. Governors closed forest areas to smoking and camping during a 22 day dry spell. only 8 fires started within the forest. Local editors and ads aided fire prevention and public awareness.
