Baird and Devoy Named Ancillary Admins in Estate Fight

In Gogebic County Circuit Court Judge Cooper ends the dispute between the Karate estate and creditors by approving James Devoy of Kuonwood and William Baird of Bessemer as ancillary administrators. Bonds fixed at 25000 each, allowing swift estate administration to proceed and concluding the legal contest.

Commercial Club Sees Plans For City Growth Reviewed

The Bessemer Commercial Club met at Eagles Hall with a banquet and smoker. Members endorsed a petition to the Chicago and Northwestern Railway for a new passenger and freight depot. Discussions covered state tax assessments, potential relief petitions to Gov Warne and Gov elect Ferris, and coordination with Ironwood on a west county normal school. Soo Line to invest about 35000 to overhaul Asti ore dock this winter, aiming to boost ore transport. Frank Roman and George Welton formed a partnership and leased Bessemer Bowling Alleys on North Sophie Street, remodeling for public use tonight. Remember New Year’s Eve dance at Eagles Hall December 3. Miss Pierce of Stambaugh visited locally last week.

Public Schools Highlight Holiday Programs and History Lesson

Primary grades under Miss Olson prepare a December program for mothers in the Washington building. Christmas presentations follow in all rooms on December 20. Fire devastates Saxon business district

Last Saturday a fire destroyed seven buildings in Saxon including the post office warehouse and saloon. Losses reach about 60000 with 20000 insured. Rebuilding to start after insurance adjusts. Also notes mining, travel, and local business items from the area.

Mercer clash awaits as boys travel to Keewatin Saturday

The boys basketball team heads to Keewatin for a Saturday game at Mercer. Despite a strange floor, a hard contest is expected. Departure is 7 a.m. with return at 6 04 p.m. Three home games precede Christmas break: Wakefield on Friday December 18 and St Norberta College on December 21.

Gogebic Range Ores Ship Record Topped Ahead of Previous Years

The Soo railroad and Northwestern docks closed their Ashland and harbor operations ending the season. Total shipments reached 4 787 11 tons for 1912, far surpassing prior years, with Northwestern contributing 3 778 614 tons and Soo Line 1 018 487 tons. The 1910 season was the previous high benchmark. Mrs Frances Felling traveled from Wausau to visit her brother Ernest for two months. A new line of Sterling Silver Deposit Ware is advertised at Trip letters in Iranwood Michigan.
