Voters of the Bessemer Michigan school district are notified the annual school election will be on September 1 1890 at city hall. Voters will elect two trustees for one year two for two years and two for three years. Polls run 9 am to 8 pm. Dated August 18 1890 G L Zigour secretary board of education.
A notice calls the Gogebic county Republican electors to convene at Pierce's Opera House Ironwood on August 2 1896 at 2 30 PM to elect delegates to district and state conventions and to conduct business. It details delegate apportionment by wards and townships and requests timely certified delegate lists to prepare the primafacie roll. E B Williams secretary.
Regular meeting of the common council of Bessemer held in the council room on August 17 1896 with Aldermen Gerhardt Hoff Graham and Webb present. Mayor Whiteside and six other aldermen absent. No quorum, adjourned to August 24 1890. City Clerk G L Zienur notes adjournment.
Special meeting of the Bessemer Board of Education discussed election site and school start on August 11. Roll call shows five members present and one absent. Finance committee proposed payments to local vendors and reengagement of Louis Holdorf as janitor for the high and ward schools.
