NMU graduate Sharon Rickard earns bachelor degree in education
Sharon E. Rickard of Palms Road graduated August 5 from Northern Michigan University Marquette with a Bachelor of Science in secondary education. She is the former Sharon E. Johnson, daughter of Mrs. Carl O. Johnson and the late Mr. Johnson. Her husband to be, also at NMU, will graduate in January 1968 and begin practice teaching in Lena Wisconsin August 28. The couple plans to move to Stevens Point Wisconsin where she will teach math. Their two children are Jeffery and Jamy.

New Pastor for Presbyterian Church in Bessemer

Mrs Anthony Ross 61 of 62 Fairview Apt Bessemer died Saturday Aug 19 at Grand View Hospital where she had been patient since July 17 after 10 years of failing health. Born Oct 15 1905 in Fudge Italy she came to the US at 13 and lived in Elkhart and later Jackson and Sault Ste Marie with her husband operating a grocery store and restaurant. Surviving are husband a son Joseph Porcarelli of Wakefield five grandchildren and two sisters. Remains to Desnoyer Funeral Home Jackson and funeral at St Marys Jackson Tuesday morning with burial in Jackson.

From Parkersburg West Virginia Hall earned basic carpentry and typing courses and trained in masonry rod and chain work and operated heavy equipment. He led as corpsman leader and earned specialist rating. Upon return to West Virginia he will receive job placement help from AFL CIO Appalachian Council and State Employment Service.
