Mrs Knobloch Dies Suddenly in Green Bay Visit
Mrs. George W. Knobloch of Tessemer died suddenly of coronary thrombosis Friday night in Green Bay while visiting daughter Mrs. Dom Dennesen. She was 64, a longtime resident of Tessemer and active in St Sebastian Catholic Church and Ladies Aid. Funeral services were held at St Sebastian and Hillrest Cemetery with extensive out of town attendance.

Three Firms Sue City for Cash
At a Monday evening city council meeting three firms filed suit against the city of Bessemer to recover amounts said to be due. Lake Superior District Power Co seeks $10,456.07 for lights and power, Cities Service Oil Co. $1,503.09 for gasoline, and Cashman Nurseries Inc. of Minneapolis $374.40 for shrubbery. The aldermen referred the claims to the finance committee to verify, with the city attorney to consent to judgment at the August circuit court term. if so, amounts would be spread on this year's tax rolls.

Ironwood’s George Nolan Jr. captured the Upper Peninsula golf title at Gogebic Country Club in the 25th annual U P Golf Association tournament. Nolan defeated L N Sten suns of Ishpeming two up after 44 holes, with defending champion Harry Hogan of Escanaba eliminated in the first round. The 1927 event will be at Menominee.

Aged Man Gust Swanson Found Dead at Farm
Gust Swanson 77 also known as Ekstrand was found dead at his farm near Little Girl's Point Tuesday night. A neighbor Roger Johnson notified the sheriff. Swanson lay across a log. police believe a fall fractured his skull. He was last seen Friday. The aged man was single and leaves a brother in Ironwood.

Heidemann Resigns As Ramsay Principal
Richard E. Heidemann tendered his resignation as Ramsay school principal to the Bessemer township board of education at its Monday night meeting. Lawrence P. Petrusha of Ironwood was chosen to fill the vacancy. He is a St. Thomas College graduate from St. Paul and has taught in Ironwood schools for two years. Uncle Jerry Combs died in Detroit recently at age 107.
