Hospital Trustees Removed By Board In Michigan County
Gogebic County supervisors voted 10 to 4 to remove five Grand View Hospital trustees Joseph Desonia Peter Ceno Everett Gustafson Wainio Weimers and Harold Ormes. An audit of the hospital books was requested with Michigan auditor general’s office to perform it. Frank Drazkowski Jr. will stay on temporarily as administrator until a new board is appointed. Dr Louis von Varga’s appointment as temporary administrator was ruled illegal by the prosecutor.

Gogebic County Fair starts Friday August 16 at 9 am to honor late manager William Fauhl with a 4-H Day of talent showcases, horse racing, and judging. The Saturday feature “Stars On Ice” with 35 performers, a 30 by 40 foot rink, and 60 feet of scenery follows, while Sunday offers more horse racing and the ice show.
