Father Krysty Laid To Rest After Heart Ailment
The Rev. Francis Krysty a 69 year old pastor at St Sebastian Catholic Church for nine years died at 2 a m Friday March 30 at Divine Infant Hospital Wakefield after a two week stay He served over 40 years in the Roman Catholic priesthood arriving from Wakefield where he led Immaculate Conception parish He would have marked the 42nd anniversary of his ordination on Aug 28 Born May 1 1892 in Omaha Neb He taught languages and history at St Bonaventure College Pulaski Wis and taught philosophy at Assumption Seminary Green Bay Wis He helped build the parish school directed the parish Women s Guilds Holy Name Society and the Marquette Diocesan Catholic Women council He organized census drives for parishioners and promoted parochial school basketball He conducted missions and 40 hour devotions across the country and served as chaplain at CCC camps state prisons and hospitals He oversaw remodeling and debt clearance at several parishes and directed the Ramsay parish organization during his Wakefield tenure He was survived by several nieces and nephews including Sister Esmondine OSF Grand Island Neb and Mrs Madge Stavis Long Beach Calf Funeral Mass was held Monday with a large diocesan attendance and interment at Hillcrest Cemetery

The annual spring concert presents a Panorama of Music featuring the Bessemer High School vocal and instrumental departments under Mrs. Tallio and Mr. Tezak. The Chamber of Commerce set plans for a membership drive discussed at a Saturday evening meeting at the Elks clubrooms. President Dante Pricco named directors to the membership committee. Native Bessemerite Retires From State Highway Department
Claude B Milroy of Jackson retires after 24 years with the Michigan State Highway Department. Word reached here of the death Sunday March 2 due to a heart seizure while employed by the government in Italy. Geno Evangelistao, 43, of Ironton Location, Bassemer, born February 14 1919, served as first sergeant in World War II after enlisting in 1941. He married Leondina in Rome on May 194, and leaves a son, a sister set, and several relatives. Funeral rites were held at St Peter's in Rome.
