Hancock Builds New Magneto Fire Alarm Network
Hancock residents set up a magneto type fire alarm system with phones in homes and businesses. The system rings all members and provides fire location details until notified. Installation runs along Route 43, Brodie Mountain Road, Space Farm and other roads, funded by town and donations. It replaces reliance on three telephone exchanges to speed alerts.
