No Filibuster Seen Extension Is Likely For Civil Rights Unit
Washington UPI report says Senate leaders expect limited opposition as a one year extension for the Civil Rights Commission is brought to the floor. Southern senators may attack but a filibuster is unlikely. The extension could be passed this week by attaching as a rider to a House relief bill funding WW1 widow Elizabeth Mason in Maine. The commission ends at midnight but can operate two months more.
