Music Review Phoenix Woodwind Quintet gives deft service
The Phoenix Woodwind Quintet presents a carefully chosen program because each composer wrote for the ensemble. Mozart opens with oboe and clarinet colors joined by piano, played with ensemble sensitivity by Zita Carne. The players, Schechter, Jansons, Chavez, Wrotny, Donaruma, deliver a vibrant, unified reading despite the medium heat.
