Canada's Most Wanted Crook Caught by Satellite
One of the Western Hemisphere's most wanted men, Georges LeMay of Canada, was captured with help from the Early Bird satellite after a Montreal bank burglary. He escaped a Florida County Jail on the seventh floor by a rope device, aided by unknown inside help. He allegedly led a crew that tunneled into a Bank of Nova Scotia and emptied 377 safety deposit boxes. The haul was valued between 500000 and 4 million dollars. LeMay was arrested in Fort Lauderdale May 6 and has links to a yacht-owning lifestyle and coast-aligned elusions. The RCMP identified him via satellite TV before his escape.
