New Skull Claim Ties Human Evolution at Olduvai Gorge
Dr Louis Leakey reported a recently found skull may link man with Australopithecus and early humans. Found July 17 in Olduvai Gorge, Tanganyika, the nearly intact skull is dated 600000 to 1000000 years old and shows large facial bones and teeth. The discovery, from a living floor with Oldowan tools, suggests diet including nuts and small animals and places the skull as a key link in human evolution.
