The Senate Banking Committee approved a third-try billion-dollar housing bill with Eisenhower signaling support. The plan preserves 650 million for urban renewal, reallocates 350 million on enactment and 300 million on July 1, 1960, with city limits and dormitory shifts, while dropping college classroom loans and preserving elderly housing funds.
