Environmental Quality panel faults federal funding and urban recreation
The Citizens Advisory Committee on Environmental Quality, led by Laurance S. Rockefeller, criticizes federal funding gaps and weak licensing authority. The 36 page report urges more support for urban recreation facilities, parks, and water and air protection, noting nearly 3 billion dollars in funding gaps over five years and outlining specific grant shortfalls in solid waste, air pollution control, land and water conservation, highway beautification, and water pollution control.
